Post-Publication Discussion
JURMA: Jurnal Program Mahasiswa Kreatif The journal provides opportunities for readers, researchers, and authors to discuss published articles. These discussions aim to clarify findings, provide scholarly criticism, develop interpretations, and identify issues that may require further editorial action.
- Scope of Discussion
Discussions may address:
- The appropriateness of the methods, analysis, and interpretation of the results.
- The consistency of the conclusions with the research evidence.
- Relevant literature or perspectives.
- Research limitations and the implications of the findings.
- Errors or suspected violations of publication ethics.
Scientific disagreements do not, in themselves, constitute evidence of errors or misconduct.
- How to Submit a Discussion
Readers may submit comments or a Letter to the Editor through the journal’s official contact channels or available submission system. Submissions must include:
- The title and DOI or link of the article being discussed.
- The sender’s identity and contact information for editorial communication.
- A clear description of the issues raised or arguments presented.
- Supporting references or evidence.
- A statement disclosing any relevant conflicts of interest.
Reports of suspected misconduct may be submitted confidentially to the editor. Anonymous reports containing sufficient evidence may also be considered.
- Discussion Ethics
Comments must focus on the substance of the article, use professional language, and show respect for all parties involved. The journal does not accept personal attacks, discrimination, commercial promotion, disclosure of personal data without an appropriate basis, or unsupported allegations.
Criticism will not be rejected solely because it contradicts the views of the author or editor.
- Editorial Review
The editor assesses the relevance, clarity, supporting evidence, and compliance of comments with discussion ethics. The editor may request clarification, revisions, or review by an independent expert.
Eligible comments may be published as Letters to the Editor or other forms of scholarly correspondence and linked to the article under discussion. Submission of a comment does not guarantee publication.
- Author’s Right to Respond
Authors are given the opportunity to respond to criticisms or questions within the timeframe specified by the editor. Responses must address the substance of the issues raised and provide supporting evidence where necessary.
The absence of an author’s response does not automatically prevent the publication of an appropriate comment or further editorial action based on the available evidence.
- Follow-Up Actions
If a discussion reveals issues with an article, the editor will conduct an investigation in accordance with the journal’s policies. Actions may include clarification, correction, an expression of concern, or article retraction, depending on the nature of the issue and the available evidence.
Substantive changes must not be made silently. Editorial notices must explain the reasons for the action and be linked to the relevant article.
- Independence and Appeals
Editors with conflicts of interest must not participate in decisions regarding the relevant discussion. Comment submitters or authors may appeal through the journal’s official contact channels by providing reasons and additional supporting evidence.
All discussions and reports are handled fairly, while safeguarding the confidentiality of sensitive information and maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.
