STUDENTS’ DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOUR IN MULTICULTURAL CLASSROOMS

Abstract

In the current teaching and learning processes, many teachers find students’ disruptive behaviour  that interrupts the effectiveness of teaching-learning processes in the class. Moreover, it will be more if students and teachers have different languages and cultural backgrounds. The aim of this study was to explore students’ disruptive behaviour commonly occurred in multicultural classrooms. The participants of this study are five pre-service teachers who had finished teaching practice at different elementary schools in Songkhla, Southern Thailand. The data was collected through focus group discussion and documentation. This study revealed that verbal general disruptive behaviour is the most common in multicultural classrooms
