The rising prevalence of DM is attributed to a confluence of factors, including insufficient public knowledge, unhealthy lifestyle choices, and detrimental environmental conditions. To address this multifaceted issue, a series of targeted interventions were implemented. These interventions encompassed educational outreach programs on DM for adolescents, comprehensive health screenings to facilitate early detection, and the cultivation of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA). The educational initiatives aimed to enhance understanding of DM, its risk factors, and preventive measures among the younger population. Health screenings played a crucial role in identifying individuals at risk or in the early stages of DM, enabling timely intervention. Furthermore, the promotion and cultivation of TOGA provided a sustainable and natural approach to managing blood sugar levels, fostering self-reliance in health management within the community. The findings underscore the critical importance of collaborative efforts among various stakeholders to effectively mitigate the incidence of DM. This integrated approach, combining education, early detection, and community-based solutions, is essential for improving public health outcomes and reducing the burden of DM in the long term.
2025-09-03T10:50:31+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Dewi Agustina, Irsyad Baihaqi Situmorang, Seri Rosidah, Triswa Tiana, Nadia Rizka, Azkyatul Arifah Rkthttps://pkm.uika-bogor.ac.id/index.php/ABDIDOS/article/view/2904SOCIALIZATION ON THE LEGALITY OF ESTABLISHING AN ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSE INSTITUTION IN MATA AIR TARUS VILLAGE2025-09-03T17:34:26+07:00Jeremia Alexander Wewojeremiawewo92@gmail.com
This community service was motivated by the absence of an English language course institution in Mata Air Tarus Village. As a non-formal educational institution, a course institution plays an important role in improving the competence and skills of the community, especially in the field of English as an international language. However, the establishment of a course institution must comply with applicable regulations. This community service aims to provide an understanding to the Village Head and Village Officials of Mata Air Tarus, as well as the founders of the language course institution, regarding the legal aspects of establishing such an institution. The methods used in this community service include surveys, presentations, and discussions or question-and-answer sessions. The results of the community service and discussions revealed that the establishment of a course institution must comply with the Ministry of Education and Culture Regulation Number 81 of 2013 on the Establishment of Non-Formal Education Units to avoid conflicting with existing laws and regulations. The recommendations provided are the need for a unified understanding among the Village Head, Village Officials, Course Institution Founders, and the Education Office to ensure the implementation of Non-Formal Education that can improve the quality of the community.
2025-09-03T10:53:07+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Jeremia Alexander Wewohttps://pkm.uika-bogor.ac.id/index.php/ABDIDOS/article/view/2838INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING FOR COMMUNITY-BASED AGROTOURISM DEVELOPMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION IN JAYAWIJAYA REGENCY2025-09-03T17:34:07+07:00Sumiyati Tuhuterutuhuteru.umy@gmail.comNaftali Frans Rumbiakrumbiak@gmail.comBenediktus Efer Alfaris Rumbiakrumbiak@gmail.com
Jayawijaya Regency holds significant potential for developing agro-tourism villages based on local wisdom and environmental conservation. However, underdeveloped community institutions remain a key barrier. This community service project aimed to strengthen village institutions through agro-tourism management training, participatory planning facilitation, and digital promotion. The participatory method was implemented over three days at Yudha Hall and organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Jayawijaya Regency, involving approximately 45 local tourism actors. Results indicated a significant improvement in participants' understanding of agro-tourism concepts, institutional strengthening (BUMDes and Pokdarwis), and the emergence of participatory village tourism action plans. Before the training, only 27% of participants understood basic agro-tourism concepts; this increased to 81% post-training. These achievements demonstrate that thematic training integrated with field practice is effective in building institutional capacity and advancing sustainable agro-tourism development in Jayawijaya.
2025-09-03T10:56:59+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Sumiyati Tuhuteru, Naftali Frans Rumbiak, Benediktus Efer Alfaris Rumbiakhttps://pkm.uika-bogor.ac.id/index.php/ABDIDOS/article/view/2857EMPOWERING THE WARA VILLAGE COMMUNITY IN DETERMINING MARKETING STRATEGIES FOR LOCAL RICE MSME PRODUCTS THROUGH BRAND INTRODUCTION & FORMATION2025-09-03T17:33:48+07:00Wahyuni Nurindah Sulistiowatiwahyuninurindahs@gmail.comSumiyati Tuhuterutuhuteru@gmail.comYulianti Srimantisrimanti@gmail.comLukas Dabidabi@gmail.com
MSMEs in Wara Village, Wamena, produce a superior product, high-quality local rice, which has not been fully maximized in terms of marketing. The main obstacles faced by the local community are a lack of understanding of modern marketing strategies and the suboptimal use of digital technology. Marketing activities still rely on conventional methods without proper packaging, branding, or promotion through digital media. Furthermore, limited internet access and low levels of digital literacy exacerbate the situation. As a result, local rice products struggle to compete and lack adequate bargaining power in the market. Therefore, capacity building in the marketing sector is necessary to support the optimal development of product potential. The solution is to organize a socialization of product marketing strategies tailored to the real needs of local businesses. Using concrete case studies and a participatory approach, this socialization increases knowledge of marketing mix concepts and brand creation. This activity significantly contributes to strengthening the marketing capacity of MSMEs and building the identity of local rice products. Going forward, through ongoing mentoring, it is hoped that the Wara Village community will be able to independently expand the market and increase the economic value of their products.
2025-09-03T10:57:39+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Wahyuni Nurindah Sulistiowati, Sumiyati Tuhuteru, Yulianti Srimanti, Lukas Dabihttps://pkm.uika-bogor.ac.id/index.php/ABDIDOS/article/view/2836TRAINING IN MAKING ORGANIC COMPOST TO BUILD THE CHARACTER OF ENVIRONMENTAL CARE IN STUDENTS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS 13 TALIWANG2025-09-03T17:33:29+07:00Poppy Haryanipoppy_haryani@staf.undana.ac.idMartina Ayu Sejatisejati@gmail.comTugma Jaya Manalumanalu@gmail.comPrihutomo Suhartosuharto@gmail.comRahmat Gusrigusri@gmail.com
Land productivity is significantly influenced by the patterns of land use and management practices employed. The excessive application of chemical composts and pesticides has been shown to degrade soil fertility and pose long-term threats to environmental sustainability. To mitigate these adverse effects, it is essential to introduce the principles of conservation-oriented agriculture from an early age. This community engagement activity was designed to provide elementary students at SD Negeri 13 Taliwang, West Sumbawa Regency, with direct experience in the production and application of organic compost. Moreover, the program aligns with the objectives of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), particularly through its focus on practical planting activities using potted plants. The implementation methods included an introductory session on the concept and environmental benefits of bokashi, which included a practical session involving direct student participation in the compost making process. Besides introducing eco-friendly technologies, the activity fostered environmental awareness among students. Similar programs should be continued to support early understanding of sustainable agriculture.
2025-09-03T11:00:34+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Poppy Haryani, Martina Ayu Sejati, Tugma Jaya Manalu, Prihutomo Suharto, Rahmat Gusrihttps://pkm.uika-bogor.ac.id/index.php/ABDIDOS/article/view/2909PETS AS THERAPY: THE ROLE OF CATS AND DOGS IN REDUCING STRESS AND BLOOD PRESSURE2025-09-04T11:48:03+07:00Indratiawati Indratiawatiindratiawati@gmail.comYuswanto Setyawanyuswanto_setyawan@yahoo.com
Pet ownership, particularly of cats and dogs, has been increasingly recognized as contributing to human health and well-being. Globally, cardiovascular disease and stress-related disorders remain significant health burdens, including in Indonesia where the prevalence of hypertension continues to rise. This study analyzed the relationship between keeping cats and dogs with stress reduction and blood pressure levels among 150 adult respondents in Sidoarjo using chi-square and Spearman correlation tests. The findings demonstrated that individuals who owned or interacted regularly with pets showed significantly lower levels of stress and better cardiovascular responses compared to those without pets. This suggests that cats and dogs can play a complementary role in community-based health promotion strategies by providing natural, non-pharmacological support to mental and physical health. The results further highlight the potential integration of animal-assisted approaches in public health programs, emphasizing their accessibility and sustainability. Future research is encouraged to explore long-term impacts and differences across demographic groups to strengthen the application of pet-assisted health interventions.
2025-09-04T11:48:02+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Indratiawati Indratiawati, Yuswanto Setyawanhttps://pkm.uika-bogor.ac.id/index.php/ABDIDOS/article/view/2930EDUCATIONAL POSTER DESIGN FOR THE CAMPAIGN AGAINST SINGLE USE PLASTIC2025-09-04T11:48:28+07:00Iva Aprevia Permata Bundaivaaprv@students.unnes.ac.idOnang Murtiyosomurtiyoso@gmail.com
In the face of increasingly pressing environmental issues related to the use of single-use plastics, this study aims to design an educational poster as an effective campaign tool to raise public awareness. The use of single-use plastics has become a major factor in environmental pollution, and previous research shows that public understanding and participation are still relatively low. Through an integrative visual communication design approach, this study examines elements in poster design that can attract attention, increase understanding, and encourage pro-environmental behavioral changes in the community. The research methodology used is a qualitative approach and literature study or document search covering various aspects of visual design and environmental campaigns. Successful design patterns include the use of attractive colors, easy-to-read typography, and visuals that have been presented. This study also discusses the importance of community involvement in poster design and continuous evaluation to increase campaign effectiveness. Thus, awareness and understanding of reducing single-use plastics are expected to motivate the community and strengthen existing sustainability initiatives in the community.
2025-09-04T11:48:28+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Iva Aprevia Permata Bunda, Onang Murtiyosohttps://pkm.uika-bogor.ac.id/index.php/ABDIDOS/article/view/2889DESIGNING LEARNING ANIMATION ASSETS FOR GENIORA SAYABISA JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL2025-09-04T11:48:47+07:00Talitha Aurelliathaaurellia@gmail.comEko Sugiartosugiarto@gmail.com
The development of information technology in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 has transformed learning systems into more digital ones, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, leading to the implementation of distance learning. One of them is Ratu Kalinyamat, a 16th-century female leader renowned for her bravery, wisdom, and determination, as well as her efforts to uphold the sovereignty of Nusantara. The lack of visual representation of this figure in popular media serves as the main background for the design of the art book about Ratu Kalinyamat's story. The creative process involves observation, literature studies, and interviews, resulting in a visual concept that combines narrative illustrations, colour palettes, typography, and layouts that support the storyline. The variables used in the study include exports, imports, exchange rate, trade balance, and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) over the period 2007 to 2024. Data were obtained from the World Bank and the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The stationarity test results show that all variables are stationary at different levels. The optimal lag was determined at lag 2 based on the Akaike and Schwarz criteria. The Johansen cointegration test results indicate the existence of a long-term relationship among the variables, while the stability test shows that the model meets the stability requirements. The results of the VAR analysis, Impulse Response Function (IRF), and Forecast Error Variance Decomposition (FEVD) reveal that exports and imports have the greatest contribution in influencing other macroeconomic variables. The response of the variables to external shocks is dynamic yet stable in the medium term. Exports have a positive impact on economic growth, while imports play a strategic role in meeting domestic needs. The trade balance is influenced by the movement of exports and imports and serves as an important indicator for measuring external stability. Thus, international trade is proven to have a significant impact on Indonesia’s economic stability, making it necessary to implement responsive policies such as market diversification, increasing the competitiveness of domestic products, and selective import management to ensure the sustainability of national economic growth.
2025-09-04T13:40:22+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Timoria Sitorus, Rusiadi Rusiadi, Lia Nazliana Nasutionhttps://pkm.uika-bogor.ac.id/index.php/ABDIDOS/article/view/2933DIGITAL ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION IN SUPPORTING AND ACCELERATING ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY ECONOMIC GROWTH IN INDONESIA2025-09-05T17:37:33+07:00Mutiara Annisamutiaraa537@gmail.comRusiadi Rusiadikoneksisaya@gmail.comBakhtiar Efendiefendi@gmail.comLia Nazliana Nasutionnasution@gmail.com
This study investigates the relationship between digital economy factors and environmentally sustainable economic growth in Indonesia. Variables include Internet Users (IU), Carbon Emissions (CE), Green Investment (GI), Energy Consumption (EC), and Gross Domestic Product (GDP), using 2006–2024 World Bank data analyzed through the Vector Autoregression (VAR) method. Tests conducted include unit root, Johansen cointegration, impulse response (IRF), and variance decomposition (FEVD). Results show that internet usage significantly influences green investment, energy consumption, and GDP, especially in the long term. The positive impact of IU on GDP grows over time, highlighting the role of digitalization in improving efficiency and promoting green systems. While carbon emissions were initially driven by traditional activities like exports and energy use, they are increasingly shaped by digital economy growth and green investment. Energy consumption and green investment also demonstrate a two-way relationship with technology adoption and economic growth. The findings confirm that the digital economy can accelerate sustainable development. Leveraging technology, boosting green sector investment, and managing energy use effectively can help Indonesia achieve inclusive, low-carbon growth. This research addresses this gap by designing a set of engaging and cheerful 2D assets as a technological learning solution. This study aims to design a 2D illustration asset package capable of visualizing various Man-made Features in an appealing and easily comprehensible manner. Employing a Design-Based Research (DBR) methodology, the process involved three stages: analysis, design, and evaluation. The analysis phase identified students' visual needs and style preferences to establish a robust design concept. This concept was then realized in the design phase through sketching and the creation of a visual style guide, including color palettes and typography. The final stage involved the evaluation of the designed assets. The primary output of this research is a comprehensive illustration set, which includes highly detailed 2D assets, a consistent user interface (UI) with a fresh aesthetic, a logotype, and gamification elements such as puzzles. The significance of these assets lies in their potential to capture the interest and imagination of elementary students, thereby significantly enhancing their understanding of the Man-made Features curriculum.
2025-09-04T13:43:26+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Anggoro Agung Nugrohohttps://pkm.uika-bogor.ac.id/index.php/ABDIDOS/article/view/2893INTRODUCTION TO WARUNG APPLICATION-BASED DIGITAL ACCOUNTING FOR IMPROVING THE EFFICIENCY OF FINANCIAL RECORD-KEEPING OF MSMES IN CURUG BOGOR VILLAGE2025-09-05T17:36:22+07:00Lailah Fujiantilailahfujianti@gmail.comIndah Masrimasri@gmail.comErlynda Kasimkasim@gmail.comDidit Pustian Aditiaaditia@gmail.com
Efficient financial recording is a major challenge for many Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), especially in rural areas. In this context, a community service program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat – PKM) was implemented at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Brunei Darussalam, to strengthen institutional capacity for digital transformation in educational management. The program specifically targeted UNISSA’s administrators, lecturers, IT personnel, and selected student representatives, fostering a comprehensive understanding of digital governance, smart campus systems, Learning Management System (LMS) optimization, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education. Using a combination of public seminars, interactive workshops, hands-on demonstrations, mentoring sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities, the initiative facilitated bilateral learning between Universitas Mulawarman (UNMUL) and UNISSA. The program’s outcomes included improved comprehension of digital management frameworks, heightened awareness of the role of digital leadership and robust infrastructure, and the identification of strategic pathways for sustaining transformation. Additionally, cross-institutional exchange enriched participants’ perspectives by integrating global best practices with localized policy and cultural contexts. The PKM not only advanced UNISSA’s readiness for digital innovation but also strengthened long-term academic collaboration between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam.
2025-09-04T13:51:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Ahmad Fitriadi, Widyatmike Gede Mulawarman, Azainil Azainil, Warman Warman, Susilo Susilohttps://pkm.uika-bogor.ac.id/index.php/ABDIDOS/article/view/2915RED GINGER INSTANT POWDER PROCESSING2025-09-05T17:34:37+07:00Rahmaniza Rahmanizarahmaniza91@gmail.comEpu Margi Astutiastuti@gmail.comFatma Nadianadia@gmail.com
Red ginger (Zingiber officinale var. rubrum) is widely known as a traditional medicinal plant with various health benefits, including anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidants. However, its use in the community has not been optimal, especially in the form of instant powder products that are more practical and have high economic value. This community service activity aims to empower women in RT 03 RW 01 Kubang Jaya Village, Siak Hulu, Kampar through training in the processing of red ginger instant powder. The implementation method includes socialization, demonstration, and direct practice, ranging from raw material preparation, extraction, cooking, sieving, to packaging and labeling. The results of the activity showed the high enthusiasm of the participants and the ability to produce instant ginger powder independently. This product is not only beneficial for health, but also has the potential to be developed as a household business to increase family income. This activity concluded that community empowerment through herbal processing training is effective in increasing knowledge, skills, and creativity while encouraging the use of local natural resources.
2025-09-04T13:52:09+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Rahmaniza Rahmaniza, Epu Margi Astuti, Fatma Nadiahttps://pkm.uika-bogor.ac.id/index.php/ABDIDOS/article/view/2943INCREASING PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE REGARDING HEALTHY SANITATION AND DRAINAGE CHANNEL IMPROVEMENT AS A TB PREVENTION STRATEGY2025-09-05T17:34:16+07:00Dyah Ika Krisnawatidyahika@unusa.ac.idMuhamad Khafidkhafid@gmail.comAbdul Hakim Zakkiy Fasyafasya@gmail.com
Poor drainage systems in densely populated areas contribute to increased humidity and the growth of pathogenic microorganisms, which indirectly affect the risk of TB infection. Stagnant water caused by clogged drainage channels can be a source of various infectious diseases, including respiratory infections. Furthermore, unhealthy environmental conditions can weaken the immune system, making people more susceptible to TB infection. In RT 22 RW 02, an investigation revealed that household wastewater disposal is still inadequate. The densely populated area means residents no longer have the space to build infiltration wells for their household wastewater. To dispose of household wastewater, residents channel wastewater into a puddle that lacks a secondary drainage system, resulting in wastewater accumulating there. As can be imagined, this puddle emits an unpleasant odor and can become a breeding ground for mosquitoes and pathogens, seriously threatening residents' health. Even when it rains, water from the puddle overflows onto the road, producing an unpleasant odor. The goal of this community service activity is to increase residents' understanding of healthy environmental sanitation, particularly regarding household wastewater disposal, and to work with residents to improve drainage for household waste disposal. During 3 months, from May-July 2025, the community services of a lecturer from Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (Unusa), together with community self-help, we succeeded in building a 150-meter-long drainage system for disposing of household waste into the nearest river so that there is no more stagnant waste that produces an unpleasant odor.
2025-09-04T13:53:47+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Dyah Ika Krisnawati, Muhamad Khafid, Abdul Hakim Zakkiy Fasyahttps://pkm.uika-bogor.ac.id/index.php/ABDIDOS/article/view/2945EDUCATION ON FOOD ADDITIVES IN SCHOOL SNACKS FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS AT SMAN 11 BANDUNG2025-09-06T07:27:12+07:00Thomas Gozalypangan@unpas.ac.idJaka Rukmanarukmana@gmail.comNabila Marthiamarthia@gmail.comRizqan Karima Muliamulia@gmail.comShahnaz Naurelia Idhna Qhaleedqhaleed@gmail.com
This community service activity aimed to address the high consumption of snacks containing food additives (BTP) among students who lack sufficient understanding of their types, functions, and health impacts. Many school-sold snacks use artificial colors, preservatives, or sweeteners that may exceed the limits set by the Food and Drug Administration (BPOM). To respond to this issue, lecturers from the Department of Food Technology, Universitas Pasundan, conducted educational outreach at SMAN 11 Bandung to enhance food literacy—especially in recognizing and managing the presence of BTP in school snacks. The outreach was delivered interactively through presentations, group discussions, simulations of reading BTP information on packaging labels, and distribution of educational leaflets. Key materials included: types of commonly used food additives, health risks of excessive BTP consumption, BPOM regulations, identification of BTP through E-numbers and packaging labels, and promotion of local foods and healthy snack alternatives. The activity was well-received by students and staff. Participants showed high enthusiasm, demonstrated by active engagement and many questions during discussions. Teacher involvement also suggested potential for ongoing knowledge dissemination within the school community. As tangible outputs, the team produced a final activity report, two popular articles submitted to national media, and video documentation to be used as teaching materials and promotional tools for similar educational initiatives in other schools.
2025-09-06T07:27:12+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Thomas Gozaly, Jaka Rukmana, Nabila Marthia, Rizqan Karima Mulia, Shahnaz Naurelia Idhna Qhaleedhttps://pkm.uika-bogor.ac.id/index.php/ABDIDOS/article/view/2884SUSTAINABILITY SCHOOL-BASED NUTRITION EDUCATION FOR NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASE PREVENTION IN SMA SWASTA UTAMA MEDAN2025-09-06T07:30:11+07:00Risti Rosmiatiristirosmiati@unimed.ac.idIza Ayu Saufanisaufani@unimed.ac.idHardi Firmansyahhardigizi@unimed.ac.idWina Dyah Puspita Sariwinadyah@unimed.ac.idFathia Rahmadinifathia@unimed.ac.id
Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a growing public health concern globally and in Indonesia, strongly associated with poor nutrition and unhealthy lifestyles. Schools are effective platforms for health promotion through sustainable nutrition education. The program was conducted at SMA Swasta Utama, Medan (March–July 2025) with 10 teachers and 36 students, involving preparatory coordination, development of educational tools, and delivery of nutrition education through lectures and multimedia discussions. Knowledge improvement was assessed using pretest–posttest with the Wilcoxon paired test, while teachers also received training in anthropometry, blood pressure monitoring, biochemical testing, and the Productivity Risk Self-Assessment Tool (PRISAT), supported by the provision of self-monitoring equipment. Results showed significant knowledge improvements in both groups, with clear shifts from poor to moderate and good categories (p<0.05). Teachers achieved greater gains than students, reflecting their role as facilitators and role models in health education. PRISAT screening revealed most teachers were low risk, though some were categorized as high risk, underscoring the importance of early detection. This program demonstrates the effectiveness of integrating nutrition education and health monitoring to strengthen school-based NCD prevention.
2025-09-06T07:30:11+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Risti Rosmiati, Iza Ayu Saufani, Hardi Firmansyah, Wina Dyah Puspita Sari, Fathia Rahmadini
